No Strings Attached:

A Clever Take on “Pinocchio”

“No Strings Attached” is a clever revisit of the Pinocchio story.  Carl - a somewhat lazy boy - attends a Magical Marionette show and pleads with Professor Pinecone to let him become one of the marionettes - it looks like such an easy life.  The professor allows him to audition to be part of the troupe.  For his audition, he is to play the lead role in the most famous puppet show of all time: Pinocchio.  Of course Carl - being a bit of a truant - has never heard of the story and is worried about his chances.  The professor assures him that the rest of the marionette troupe will help guide him along the plot.  He then bungles his way through and encounters various characters who “help” him along the way, including Geppetto, a reluctant cricket with an attitude, the Blues Fairy Mama, the tricksters Fox and Cat, Mary Annette, long-suffering donkeys and a monster shark!  In the end, Carl passes the marionette audition, but - more importantly - realizes that he is more useful as a boy than as a puppet.  And of course there is another twist, but you’ll have to come to the show to discover it...
